I think these ideas would be nice in the game:
One way highways ( so we can make a real highway with two lanew in each direction)
Highway overpass (for highway exits)
Single lane highways (exit/entrance ramps, they can still be 90 degree turns)
Trains, train station, train cargo depot
A way to place an object on a road like bus stops that disallows through traffic (make them use highway)
High density Avenue with median
