The Life of John Richards
John Richards was one of the greatest, if not, the greatest, Record Producers and Guitarist, selling over 200 million records worldwide, and is considered the "King of Records". Richards was born in Benaroya, HA, a suburb 20 mi north of Dalton, HA, in 1938. He was talented, but also had Depression. He grew up in the area, and started a band in high school that he called "The Evergreen Boys". He played guitar, and was popular because of his skills. In 1953, he started writing songs and was learning on how to produce music, and by 1956, record his first album with the Evergreen Boys, at age 18. The band came to a huge success, and were very well know in the Dalton area, and the entire state of Harlington. His band released a second album named "Sounds from Heaven" in 1958, which was even more successful, and their single "My Love, My Love", peaked at #1 on Novara Hot 100, and #1 on Musicmain. The band remained really successful, went on a nationwide tour, and released 3 more albums. By 1962, Richards had started a solo career, and was beginning to be know worldwide. The Evergreen Boys started going through hard times, and in 1964, the band broke up. But Richards kept on going forward. Later in 1964, Richards met Peter Hamilton, a 16 year old boy from a small town in northwest Harlington, who started recording music with him. Also in 1964, Richards got married to his wife, Destiny Carter. His solo career started becoming successful, with him releasing an album in 1965 named "The Start of a Life", which he released after the birth of his oldest son, John Jr, and 3 hits, "The Golden Beach", "Junior", and "A Night in the Woods", peaked #1 on Novara Hot 100 and #1 & #2 on Musicmain. Later, he won his 1st Grammys, winning Song of the Year (The Golden Beach), Record of the Year (The Golden Beach), and Album of the Year (The Start of a Life). In 1966, He released yet another album, but this time, with Bobby Stone, and it was called "Rolling Stone". The album peaked at #1 in the brand new Novara 200, and the single "Momma" peaked at #1 on Novara Hot 100 and Musicmain, and won Grammys again, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Duo Performance. In 1967, his daughter, Melodie, was born, and Richards sang a song dedicated to her name "My Melodie", which peaked #1 on Novara Hot 100 and #3 in Musicmain, and won Record of the Year. In 1968, Richards decided to go on a "Rolling Stone" Tour with Bobby Stone, which would be a big success. The first leg of the Tour started on May 1, and ended on October 23, and performed Concerts in Sethland and Mexico. In the tour, he broke the record attendance for Capitola Field in Sethville, 103,626 (Later broken by the 1993 Capital Classic), and made over $4.1 million in the first leg. The second leg, which started January 17, and ended June 28, was even more successful, as he also toured Arizelon. Olympic Stadium in Los Santos was packed, as over 108,729 people went to see the concert. He made over $5.7 million, and in July, his 3rd child, Ramsey, was born. After the tour, he recorded a song with Peter Hamilton, named "Always living in my Heart", which was dedicated to Hamilton's brother, Tyler, who had been killed at war earlier that year. The Song was #1 on Novara and Musicmain, won Record of the Year, and Hamilton won New Artist of the Year, which led him to become the greatest Sethlandian Singer, thanks to Richards. Richards was earning cash by the minute, as his records were selling like crazy. In 1970, he was invited to the Elite House, where he met president Steve Walker. Walker said he was one of the greatest people he has ever met (Walker's funeral in 1991, he was buried Richards' 17 albums in honor). In 1973, he had reached 100 million Records sold worldwide, which he then threw a party in his Mansion in Dalton. In 1974, he released a new album, "Time is Time", which won Album of the Year, and became his most successful album at that time. In 1975, Bobby Stone, sadly, passed away at age 39 from Cardiac Arrest, and dedicated a tour to him called ,"The Legendary Stone" Tour. He made $6.1 million in the tour, making it his most successful tour yet. He later met again with Peter Hamilton, who was in need of manager, and Richards decided to become Hamilton's manager. Hamilton started going up in the Industry, and he and Richards became really close, if not, best friends. In 1976, Richards produced Hamilton's hit single "Deja Vu" which peaked at #1 on Novara Hot 100 and Musicmain for 8 weeks. The Song later won Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Duo/Group Performance of the Year, Rock Song of the Year, Rock performance of the Year, and Producer of the Year, and became Hamilton's #1 Song. More records were produced with him and Hamilton, and by 1980, Richards had sold over 150 million records worldwide, and Hamilton had sold over 145 million records worldwide. But, by 1982, life took a curve. Richards recently got addicted to Peds, a dangerous drug created in the late 70s in southwest Sethland. Him and his wife were getting in fights, and he had been paying taxes late. But life wasn't all negative. In 1983, Hamilton and Richards official announced the release of a new album, "Evergreen", which was to be released in early 1984. The album was a success, and sold 5 million copies in the first week. Sadly, in June, Richards' oldest son, John Jr, was killed in a car accident, and had torn Richards heart apart. But, on August 1984, Hamilton and Richards released the greatest song that had been produced in both of their careers, "One Last Chance". The song had some very strong and emotional lyrics, being related to the loss of John Jr, and probably had the greatest guitar solo by Richards. The song reached #1 on Novara Hot 100 and Musicmain, and became Hamilton's and Richards most successful hit. But sadly, that was the last song Richards ever produced. On October 12, 1984, his wife was trying to find an item she had lost, and saw the most shocking and heartbreaking think when she walked into the restroom. John Richards, who was 46 and an icon to the world, had taken his own life. The world was shocked and heartbroken when they heard of Richards passing, and thousands attended his funeral, held in Dalton, HA. He was buried in Shorelight Memorial Cemetery, and in honor of him, the Cemetery was renamed John Richards Memorial Cemetery. The 1984 Grammys held a tribute performance to Richards, and his Album Evergreen, won the Album of the Year, along with 8 other Grammys. John Richards will always live in Music.
