History and name meaning -
Merychlikane Highways, interesting story, interesting designer, basically just big highways. It was built to accomodate Verderiesdre's major industrial growth, cheap vehicle prices also contribute to growing traffic, and some more tourist problems.
It is 1970, Verderiesdre was starting to become stronger and stronger in terms of its economy, Sherlings continue to rise in value, accordingly 13.88Sh=1$, Major industrialisation was pretty much the reason it happens, but suddenly, traffic congestion roars in every single highways connecting major, almost every truck driver left their jobs from stress and underpayments, of course, Verderiesdre needs a solution, it comes from 2 Architects, enter in, Gerald Merryweather Fischer and David Salschlikane.
Gerald and David were very famous for their designs of Skyscrapers and Bridges, they were particulary succesful, and of course the King (Verderiesdre was a Monarchy back then) requested them to develop a superhighway to solve major traffic problems that plague the whole country, then they developed this 32-lane highway, named the Merychlikane Highway, named after both architects, more ambitious crossover than Endgame. However, large highways doesnt actually solve traffic congestion, althought this actually does, since everyone was complaining about 2 lane highways. The highway spans across the nation, connecting major cities, some even founded near them. The highway costs 15.6 Billion to make, but has significantly contributed to 869 Billion dollars per year of Economic Income.
After 1975, things have cooled down alot, no more traffic jams, at least not daily ones, smooth every day, every hour, it is still a major road for all traffic going to other citites, its still remembered to be the best road you can choose to go around the country.
