Prehistory | <1519

Indigenous Settlements (<1519)
The earliest evidence of humans were found in the Tabon and Callao Caves, both of which are dated to be 15,000 and 67,000 years ago. There have been also multiple ethnic groups before the colonial era, and they are broadly categorized into the Visayans, and the Lumads, which are sub-categorized further into the Bagobo/Manobo, Mandaya, and T'boli.

The Visayans composed the majority all of Avalon's population that time. They largely populated the present day states of Cebu, Naga, Mindoro and Calapan,  which was called Visayas during that time. They were a mix of ethnic and foreign cultures. They transitioned to practicing Catholicism in the early 1300s. It was during this period that the Visayans, who were technologically advanced compared to their neighbors, the Lumads, invaded their lands. However the invasion turned out differently as it resulted into them mixing and exchanging their cultures. They managed to establish trade routes, relations and such with the Lumads before the formation of the Ava Empire.

The Lumads were the un-Islamized and un-Christianized people during that time, they also comprised of Avista's population. They had no definitions of borders and due to that, they were easily invaded by their Visayan neighbors. The Visayan and Lumad blending of cultures, resulted in majority of the Lumads converting into Catholicism and exchanging of Lumad cultures with the Visayans resulted into them becoming a unified empire. Even though they weren't technologically advanced, their culture was richer than the Visayans and due to this, many Lumad influences can be seen in present day Avalon.

The Visayans were also good seafarers which lead to their control of the Spratly Islands, Paracel Islands, and Scarborough Shoal, with early maps showing Avalon's claimance as early as 800 B.C. However research and findings see boats ranging from small to massive sizes in the Paracel and Spratly Islands that are older than what the maps show.

They had also avoided being invaded by any empires during that period. The Visayans and Lumads were both technologically advanced compared to other empires around the world.

Imperial Centuries | 1519-1913

Ava Empire (1519-1544)
During 1519, the Ava Empire was formed through uniting the Visayans and the Lumads. They managed to bring foreign culture and have it introduced into the Empire. They also managed to avoid being colonized by all empires due to them being largely isolated from them. The empire continued to flourish for nearly 335 years.

In the 1700s, the Ava managed to discover their first rhinestone mine, although it would have very little value, compared to what it is today, many of the wealthy managed to have at least one piece of rhinestone jewelry.

Emerging Power (1518-1538)
During this period, the Ava managed to conquer their first lands and established the capital city of Ava in Nandyo, which is present day, Puerto Princesa City and was the center of trade for the empire. The first colonization sparked their thirst for global domination.

Thirst for Global Domination (1523-1539)
The thirst for global domination was inspired by the Crotonese Empire, as the Ava looked to the Crotonese as inspiration for conquest. In 1524, Governor Elijah Cinos signed the Treaty of Ava, which gave the Governor, special powers to invade foreign territories. The Golden Age of Isolationism ended as the Ava Empire swore to attack and conquer lands and dominate the Pacific.

Imperialism (1523-1529)
During this period, the Ava saw an opportunity to attack and claim islands in the Pacific Ocean. This period of imperialism caused the Seven Years War, fought between the Ava and the Bisaya of the present day states Davao, Zamboanga, and Misamis. They managed to dominate the lands however, repeating history yet again, the natives' culture managed to blend with the Ava Empire. The newly conquered states were given mandates, as when the time would come, they would become independent nations again.

Colonialism (1530-1533)
Avista was the first country to be invaded and integrated by the socialist empire in 1530. They managed to fully develop Avista into a powerhouse with ease, as the government was mainly weak. The culture of Avista and Avalon mixed, providing more cultural wealth for the country.

Sights were eventually set for present day Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad, and in 1532, an invasion was started by the Avalans. Veranza and Trinidad was the second nation to fall into the hands of the newly formed socialist empire. Within one day, Veranza and Trinidad were invaded. Summerset was invaded a day after the invasion of Veranza and Trinidad.

The socialist regime then abolished the both of the countries monarchy and brutally murdered the royal families. The socialist regime was not afraid to show the world that it would brutally murder monarchies for the installation of dictatorships.

Eventually, due to the increased colonial power, the Ava Empire decided to unify with the newly colonized nations, and become the Theocratic Catholic Empire of Avalon in 1544.

Theocratic Catholic Empire of Avalon (1544-1854)
The first regime of the Avalon was established in 1544, following the ideals of catholicism in the country. For the next 50 years since its formation, the empire flourished. Significant development was seen in the empire, and Nandyo turned into a trade hub.

Theocratic Catholic State (1544-1854)
Avalon in the early centuries strictly followed Catholicism in the country. It would only become more radicalized as the centuries continued. The regime had refused to start relations with a non-Christian majority country.

First Holy War (1638)
One of the only few wars fought by the Avalon, the First Holy War was a war between Muslim travellers and Catholics in the country. The two had fought between each other since the Muslims had been forcefully converting Catholics to their religion, and they had also aimed at converting Avalon into an Islamic State. The First Holy War ended when the travellers were brutally hung in front of their people.

Second Holy War (1640)
The Catholics of Avalon were furious with the events and had brutally murdered, converted, or exiled many Avalan Muslims in the country. The socialist regime centuries later looked down on the Second Holy War as the blood of innocents were spilled due to the ideals of few.

Industrial Revolution (1760-1860)
On the onset of the Industrial Revolution, development was seen everywhere. Avalon had become a cultural melting pot and the economy had been improving and slowly improving. The effects of socialism were also fully felt in this period as the lower class was eradicated for a brief time. The rapid industrialization also helped spur the development of Avalon’s military.

Socialist Empire of Avalon (1855-1944)
Eventually, inspired by the socialist ideology, the regime changed it ideals and the theocratic empire was no more.

Regional Power (1855-1944)
Rapid development was seen in all of the states. Avalon started to mold the country into becoming a regional power. It had avoided invasions from any country since the foundation of the Ava Empire, and would continue to do so centuries later. The onset of industrialization was near, and Avalon had to prepare for it.

Maintaining Diplomacy (1855-1913)
Along with the Industrial Revolution, Avalon had established global relations with other countries and empires around the globe. It had often taken a step back from diplomacy as the country wanted to avoid conflicts with other countries.

World Wars | 1914 - 1944

Isolationism in World War I (1914-1918)
The regime decided to impose the Cinos doctrine which ensures Avalon's neutrality in the course of WWI. Avalon was one of the very few countries and one of the only empires to maintain neutrality in the war.

Avalon was extremely isolated during the course of World War I. The country maintained its neutrality and the country still flourished, mainly in the state of Rhinestone. Eventually, the first rift between Avista and Rhinestone were seen when the development was only in Rhinestone only. Avista sought to expand their lands by expanding through the north, however further rifts inside the country were seen when many factions inside the state rose and sought to dominate all lands.

Looming Depression (1919-1927)
Inflation rose in the country as WWI drew to a close, the effects of inflation were not heavily felt  early in the decade. In this time of crisis however, cultural and ethnic improvements occurred throughout the country, cementing the country as a cultural melting pot for decades to come. As 1928 approached, the effects of inflation caused the country to experience an economic depression.

Economic Depression (1928-1930)
An economic depression occurred during the final years of the 20s. The country experienced hyperinflation and unemployment reached an all time high. Eventually, the country’s development managed to slow down. The economic depression lasted for 2 years, and it would take 30 years for the country to reach as great as it used to be.

Rapid Economic Growth (1931-1938)
Rapid economic growth arose when the country excited economic depression. Rapid developments were seen in Rhinestone, Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad. Avista, which took most of the effects of the economic depression, experienced slow growth.

Isolationism in World War II (1939-1944)
Aligning itself again with the Cinos doctrine, the socialist empire managed to avoid engaging in World War II. Although the regime wanted to avoid war, the people were disappointed with what the regime wanted. The country didn’t want to aid their allies’ enemies however they were all forced to. It would only be the start of discontent regarding the regime.

Collapse of the Empire | 1940-1944

1st and 2nd Rebellions of Overseas States (1940)
Discontent with the regime rose. The states of Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad rebelled against the regime. It was initially unsuccessful as the forces of Rhinestone and Avista were stronger than the three states. Guerillas were stationed around the three rebellious states. Further discontent rose as the regime slaughtered the Muslim population of the three rebellious states. The Muslim rebels supported calls for Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad independence, and the regime thought by eliminating the nearly 2 million Muslims would stop the rebellion. It only fueled it.

3rd and 4th Rebellion of Overseas States (1941)
The third rebellion of the overseas states shook the regime. They managed to topple the governors of the said states. The fourth rebellion was a win for the allied rebellion. Summerset declared independence, with Veranza and Trinidad following soon after. Avista and Rhinestone were both weakened by the independence of the three states. Discontent now arose within the countries due to the crimes committed by the regime. A rebellion arose in Agoncillio City.

War for Independence (1942-1943)
The country split into two factions, an allied rebel coalition against the government forces. The war was brutal on Avista’s part as most of the fighting occured on those said lands. The rebels managed to score a victory by eliminating a lot of forces in Rhinestone. They eventually reached Nandyo and made a blockade.

Divergence From the Empire (1944)
In the final days of the year, the Avista and Rhinestone managed to declare independence, leaving the city-state of Nandyo as the last remnant of the socialist empire. Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad congratulated the two nations for achieving independence, and they both temporarily bid goodbye and relations grew rather distant from the two states.

Collapse of the Socialist Empire of Avalon (1944)
During Christmas Day of that year, Nandyo finally gave in to Rhinestone forces. The socialist regime surrendered to Rhinestone, signalling the collapse of the Socialist Empire of Avalon. The collapse of the socialist empire, was the only time in history wherein Avalon was invaded by an external party.

However, no treaty has officially shown the collapse of the Socialist Empire of Avalon due to doctrines and laws passed by previous regimes. This meant that all states were all suspended members of the socialist empire, until the Treaty of San Fernando ended it 74 years later.

Post-Imperial Communist-Capitalist Period | 1945-1963

First Regime of the Rhinean Union (1945-1962)
Avista and Rhinestone both decided to unify into the Rhinean Union. Development however was one sided with Rhinestone gaining most of the development. Avista’s discontent rose, however ties managed to remain close between the nations. The first regime of the Rhinean Union showed Rhinestone, that it didn’t really need Avista anymore, and rifts grew further. An all out war was about to rise between Rhineans and Avistans until they both saw slow leadership.

Gradual Decline of the Regime (1960-1962)
The regime’s powers gradually declined. Corruption plagued the regime, and it seemed that the people weren’t trusting of it. They were also in disapproval of the slow implementation of communism as the country was still a socialist one. A man arose from the regime, and decided that it was enough for the people of the Rhinean Union.

Corazon Revolution (1963)
Felipe Corazon, a former member of the regime arose in the time of need. He started a revolution, and peacefully handed the power of the first regime to another leader. He chose to not remain in power, but remained as inspiration for a future revolutionary.

Post-Imperial Socialist-Capitalist Period | 1963-1967

Second Regime of the Rhinean Union (1963-1967)
The second regime was aimed at a socialist ideology. It was mainly successful in Rhinestone, but not in Avista. A rift between Avistans and Rhineans started to show itself. The two states further distanced themselves from each other.

Technological Advancements (1963-present)
The former nations that composed the socialist empire signed a joint treaty, that ensured the technological advancements of the former nations. The Rhinean Union was the first to have their nuclear weapons, however it was kept mostly away from Avistans. Eventually, Avista managed to get their hands on nuclear weapons, however Rhinestone confiscated it after plots to launch it to Rhinestone were discovered. Up to this day, Rhinestone and Summerset, the leading nations in the union in the aspect of science and technology, further develop the country’s technological capabilities.

Space Race (1963-present)
Rhinestone started its space program and was the first among the former socialist empire remnants. Avista followed by, however the space race was already won by Rhinestone. Decades since the race began, the country has several orbital weaponry and has several space stations, with the farthest being the Saturn Space Station. It also has several off-world colonies, namely on the Moon, Mars, and Titan.

Military Modernization (1967-present)
Military modernization started when an increased budget in the military was granted. After all countries managed to get its nuclear weapons, military might was to be strengthened. As usual, Avista lagged behind the development, and until the unification fo all states into the new union, Avista would not be as militarily powerful as the other states.

Great Industrialization (1967-present)
Avista now ushered into economic prosperity, Rhinestone meanwhile had experience slower growth. A movement arose within the Rhineans that a capitalist society, just like Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad would be better and successful. Laws were passed that fully distanced Rhinestone from the socialist ideology, however Avista disliked the movements.

Collapse From Within (1967)
Corruption plagued the second regime. A man named Miguel Torres, united with Felipe Corazon, and started the golden age of Rhinestone, beginning with the end of the Rhinean Union, and the conversion into a capitalist society. Despite the golden age that it brought, it was time for a socialist society in the Rhinean Union to end.

Torres Revolution (1967)
Torres and Corazon started the Torres Revolution. It peacefully caused the regimes to end, and Rhinestone to join the ranks of Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad as a capitalist society. Rhinestone left the Rhinean Union, officially dissolving the final union between the Avalan countries, and the start of the Avistan downfall.

Cold War | 1968-1992

Torres Administration (1968-1992)
President Miguel Torres of the Republic of Rhinestone entered into office in 1968. He had introduced many policies that had continued Rhinestone’s golden age. He was the longest running leader in the history of the union.

Cold War (1968-2018)
The moment that Rhinestone left the Rhinean Union, dissolving the union between Avista, Avistans were angered with the decision made by Rhinestone. They both briefly engaged with talks however ties between each other with Rhinestone's reason being that the country refuses to evolve democratically, while Avista's reason being that a socialist kind of government will provide success. The countries have not engaged in talks until the 2018 talks for the reformation into the United Nations of Avalon.

Avistan Civil War (1968-2018)
Growing dissent against the socialist regime of Avista was seen. Eventually, the regime headquarters were bombed. Although it was a victory for the loyalists, it was a defeat for the nationalists. A vacuum of power appeared, and a civil war occurred for 50 years, and the country was left without a leader for nearly three decades. The loyalists were the minority, and when they asked for help from Rhinestone, the nationalists refused to accept help from their former brother state. A nationalist victory was looming on the horizons as the millennium was nearly ending, however the loyalists changed the tide of the war, and it resulted in their victory, and the ushering of an Avistan golden age.

Decolonization (1968-1968)
The mandates of Rhinestone were temporarily granted independence for 50 years. If they wanted to maintain their independence, Rhinestone would grant it. However, 50 years later, the mandates rejoined with Rhinestone after a referendum.

Attempted Assassinations (1970-1980)
Assassinations were attempted by Avistans on Rhinean President, Miguel Torres. All of the attempts however failed as the perpetrators of the attempts were not experts. Public distrust against the Avistans continued to grow, even with Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad.

Contemporary History | 1992-present

Dalusong Administration (1992-2004)
President Emmeline Dalusong entered into office in 1992. Her administration was the reason why the country is federalist during her first term. Her second term however plagued with corruption at the lower offices, she however managed to rid corruption from the lower offices, leaving the country corruption free for decades to come.

Miracle at the Rio Grande de Cagayan (1992-present)
Rapid economic growth was seen in Rhinestone, Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad. Rhinestone experienced the most economic growth which lasted until the late 2010s. It was only when Avista joined the union, that it managed to overtake Rhinestone as the fastest growing nation among the union.

Collapse of Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad (1999)
Before the new millennium, the three other remaining states collapsed. Their governments were overthrown and the countries were reformed into the Samarian Empire.

Samarian Empire (2000-2018)
Rhinestone however was too weak to fight a war against the Empire since it didn’t have its mandates and Avista on its side. The country had to play the waiting game with the Empire, as it had to bolster its forces enough to take on the Samarian Empire.

Lopez Administration (2004-2010)
President Alfonso Lopez was elected into office in 2004 for his pro-LGBT policies. He was the first openly gay president of the union, and he has cemented the country as one of the safest places for the LGBT community in the globe.

Manio Administration (2010-2016)
President Alexa Manio’s administration was marked with rapid welfare development. It had also been the start of the golden age of infrastructure in the country as she had created trillions of dollars worth of projects for the upcoming years.

De Guzman Administration (2016-present)
President Damien Scott De Guzman was elected in 2016. Having being the first presidential candidate to win a landslide in the elections. His administration has marked the culmination of policies made by his predecessors. In 2018, after reforms within the union, he had become the overall President of the United Nations of Avalon.

United Nations of Avalon (2018-present)
In 2018, a monumental decision was made that changed the history of Avalon forever. Avista had voted for reunification with Rhinestone in a referendum. The Eastern Oceanic, Western Oceanic, Rhinean Timor and Rhinean Palaos were formed in the announcement of reunification from the thirteen territories of Rhinestone. Later in that year, the Samarian Crisis resulted in Summerset, Veranza and Trinidad being liberated from the Samarian regime.
