I cleared up a swath of dense buildings just across the freeway from Downtown and refined then to be less dense homes, and no new people are moving in.

With all the new residential zones I have laid down, they aren't being developed into actual buildings.

The population of Iridia has stagnated at around 20-thousand residents, where it has been for most of its 70-year existence. Can somebody help me please?

No residential demand or industrial/commercial demand is higher than the residential

Also, it takes a couple of minutes for new things to show up after clearing, even with demand. :)

No, there's this space that I cleared that hasn't seen any new development for ten years, even though I manually changed the demand to purely residential. And then I have another space pretty close to my airport that was only partially filled with houses for some reason.

I know it usually takes a couple minutes for new development. I just am getting concerned that these areas aren't being developed AT ALL, even with the modified demand.

Could it be due to this huge French Quarter?

So I should destroy the French Quarter? :(

Okay so I destroyed the French Quarter and rezoned the whole area with regular residential, but nobody is moving in.

Is there a disaster happening?

It might be that you now have mostly upperclass commercial and industrial existing and are not providing the amenities for upperclass residents. :)

Okay so I just created a new city called Nagamaki, and only 198 people moved in.

The new residential zones are massive. The are almost no houses on them.

What is going on? I have everything they need built, churches, parks, schools, sports, busses. I planned this city to be huge and I built two huge freeways through downtown, where the 198 people live. Something is wrong here!

I don't play sandbox, but I think you have to increase demands manually.

Okay nevermind, Nagamaki's population is growing again.

And I already modified the demand manually, that's how I build all my cities. I may need help in case a population freeze happens again.

A way to get more new residents to move in is to put more job opportunities.

I'm having same exact problem, I'm playing in regular mode. I have all kinds of area laid out for residential and nothing is moving in or one house will build!! Also with commercial and industrial. I have everything they'd need police, fire, hospital, parks sports an transportation. My town has died at under 40K ppl. Why???
