Since I was born and live in Texas, I am going to answer some Texas stereotypes and rumors...
1. Texas is a Desert Stereotype: No. Texas has a desert, but that's in west Texas, and only covers about 1/4 of Texas
2. Texas is full of cowboys: No. There was cowboys in the past, but the only cowboys left are a couple of gay men from Dallas.
3. The Texas Flag can fly at the same height as the US Flag: Yes, but I've been to other states, and seen that their flags fly at the same height too...
4. Texas is oil land: Hell yes. Come to Houston, the Buffalo Bayou is FULL of refineries and industries
5. Texas is full of Rednecks: No. I know this for sure, and also, we don't talk in a Midwestern or Southern accent. Also, Texas is FULL of Mexicans and Hispanics...
