Time synchronization with traffic

Would it be possible to make a passing game day synchronize with the time it takes for a vehicle (on a non-congested expressway with no intersections) to cross from one side of a huge map to the opposite side? As it is, I think traffic takes about 5 game days to cover the distance.

I agree that the time doesn't really fit to the cars. On the other hand if a day would take longer it would take more time to get money. To have a new day every 2 seconds sounds not that bad to me. (and at least other games like SimCity4 also work like that)

Ok, I understand. Don't want to limit the city's development waiting for income:).
