Traffic trouble in small village - how to deal with it?
Traffic trouble in small village - how to deal with it?
I've played quite many different sim-city-alike games, but with theotown I constantly run into too much traffic and I'm not sure how to handle it.
My newly started tiny village has some traffic issues. How to deal with them in an efficient way? All roads are "country roads" (not the dirt road)
so I can't upgrade them any more - except to one way roads.
Here is a screenshot of the current traffic situation
BTW, Theotown runs just fine in SailfishOS android emulator!

Re: Traffic trouble in small village - how to deal with it?
Ah, that explains. I have all my industries to the left, then some empty space and last commerials and residentals. Commercials a little more to the left than the residentials.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Traffic trouble in small village - how to deal with it?
There are some ways:
1. The very easy way/lazy way - Just don't care about it
2. The easy way- Turn off traffic lights
3.The average way- Move your zones, similar to what former member said
4. The hard way- Edit some parts of your city to have more roads (Also, avoid having too much intersections)
5. The very hard way- Edit your whole city and after editing, there will be few intersections, no traffic lights, etc.
6, The cheater's way- Go to settings and change the traffic percentags

There's nothing cheating about you as the mayor of the city implementing traffic restrictions.

Thanks all! I tried BetterBear's point 3)
Despite putting the commercials next door to the industrial zones, it doesn't look good: With houses: Regarding the other points:
1) Won't that affect how the zones evolve?
2) In reality, it feels like a buzy intersection without traffic would preform worse. When should traffic lights be used in the game?
3) Didn't turn out that easy.
4) Like having double roads, one way directed roads in each direction? IMHO it feels like theotown would do good with one size bigger roads than country road, but not as large as avenues.
5) I probably restart, it wasn't a big city.
6) Maybe the settings on easy level (that I'm playing on) should have better traffice percentage by default

Your given screenshot have a shorter distance between 2 streets (4x8 roads) make a worst traffic. Do minimum 8x8 roads. Make commercial zone, industrial zone residential zone. The 4x8 road is recommended for small and medium size.

Re: Traffic trouble in small village - how to deal with it?
I have some theories when village get alot traffic jams:
1. Traffic settings are high such 2x and above
2. Too much high density building
3. Too much factory (1factory=4-15 trucks/cars)
4. No country road or expressway
5. Too much traffic light
6. Always rain (can cause car speed - 35%)
