Season Change

Why not have auto season changes. It's would be a nice feature to have in-game. Since there are farms now, the seasons would effect the farms too. They wouldnt be able to produce trucks since their crops can't be grown. So, everything would come to a halt. The trees would lose their leaves and stuff. Maybe is regular time, their should be particles of leaves floating off the trees. Maybe even people raking leaves on the side of some roads or something. Just some small detail stuff to go with it.

It's simple, for playable performance it's mandatory to put all graphics in a single texture. It looks like that:


As you can see we run out of space. We may not resize the texture because bigger than 2048x2048 won't be supported on many devices (especially because of java heap limitation instead of GPU...). So the main problem is that we don't have the space to add such graphics.

Won't you run out of space at somepoint with that limitation? If you are restricted to that little, don't you guys have a way to expand it more without affecting other devices?

Ok but one could have 4 different textures based on current events around the player. For scrutiny's sake switch rain for snow in winter. Eventually add an option for game to select hemisphere based on GeoIP.

Game chooses spring, summer, autumn, winter based on real months - Feb-April, May-Jul, Aug-Oct, Nov-Jan for northern hemisphere, the other way about for southern (winter switched with summer, spring with autumn).

That way it can be kept in one texture, it allows for change of seasons plus gives a natural feel.
