The Zayrattanian Civil War began in 2018 and lasted until March of 2019.
On the morning of Thursday November 15, 2018, Zayrattan's 13th President, Alexandra Goldsworthy, was at a large mall in Venacia, getting a gift for Eva Salamander (who later became the 14th President of Zayrattan).
A man parked a small car next to the southern entrance to the mall. He then left the vehicle, ran to a seemingly safe distance, and detonated the bomb inside the car.
The explosion destroyed half the mall, killing 162 people. The bomber and President Goldsworthy are among the killed.
Her death destabilized the nation, causing everyone to question whether the nation was safe from outside terrorists (the bomber was Zayrattanian).
The attack led to a rash of ferocious freeway battles and thr destruction of several-hundred-thousand cars.
More than 286-thousand people died during the war, which was comprised almost entirely of freeway battles in the nation's four largest cities - Venacia, Renanna, Cierra, and Anarae.
