Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant - Process Update (Preview)

Okay. Right now the power plant looks like this: Screenshot_2017-10-31-12-52-27.png With a code of this: [ { "id":"hydroelectric power plant", "height":6, "width":6, "type":"energy", "needs water":false, "needs land":tru...

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

@mdk_813 well I really do hope that's possible, it looks neat! BTW the water at the back of the plant ends at 6x6 not 4x4 just like what is shown on the picture. The flow comes from 6x6, then releases it to 4x4. The sea barrier walls would help to have a dam-like illusion or perspective.

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

I voted for the first option. This would be ideal. However, if this is not possible, you should resort to building it on a 6x6 patch of land and simulating a 4x4-water stream with your ground texture. You could use the pictures I uploaded a couple of days ago for orientation. The options are 3 now,...

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

I tried my theory, it didn't work on covering fully the water, BUT, it will only leave a 1x line of pixel of water that would pass through, a very small line. Either The power plant would need road or need land if you guys really want to cover that small gap. Maybe we should make it as a poll on whi...

@mdk_813
@CommanderABab

I only have a theory right now. I haven't tried if graphics would still work properly if, putting grass or road beyond the 6x6 platform would cover up the passing water but keeping the width and height on 6.

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

Why don't you just use "draw ground": true :bq Miscommunication, I'm sorry. What I meant to say is if it would only be: needs water: true but needs land: false how would it change the dynamics of the plugin? That would make it only placeable on water. What I meant was why add the water to...

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

In what way should I change the shadows? and the shoreline parts, what I meant when I said I do not know where should I put it is I really do not know where would it be necessary to be put. The water flow mechanism is probably okay, I do know how it will flow. Only the land parts and shoreline part...

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

Alright, here is my update regarding the dam. I do not know what's missing and where to put it. I do not know also where to put the shoreline, land, and water (if needed and necessary). The shadows... I just flip the design that is why it is facing probably the wrong way. The .json file, I have no ...

I live near a big hydroelectric power plant, it was shown how it works on TV yesterday :bc
How does it feel to be living nearby a hydro power plant? Was it noisy? Do you get flooded when heavy rains occur? Does it make any effect on you and your residential area?

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (The Process)

Here is the process of the revision of the skeletal design of my hydro power plant project. 1. It is gray for color foundation and shadings, also it is a concrete default. Color changes would be open as soon as I finish it. 2. I'll put tile lands on both ends of the establishment areas only (partly ...

The circled parts are more or less those which you need to work on (and for which you need to create the rotational views).

Remember that you will need to create seamless transitions between the tiles.
I'll see what I can do to make the designs work out. Thank you!

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

I recommend paint.net. Many useful features, and really easy to use. Easier than for example Gimp or Photoshop. But if you have Windows then even in the default MS Paint you can create good graphics if you use proper tools. Hey! Paint.net was a very helpful recommendation! Thank you very much! Even...

Re: Hydroelectric Power Plant (Beta Design)

Uhh, that is quite an ambitious project you've gotten yourself into there... So far, it looks really nice. It certainly has a lot of potential :thumbsup: On the designing part: You definitely need to get rid of the outlines and add some texture to it. Maybe select a more yellowish concrete color in...
