Before opening TheoTown, make sure there are no other tasks showing when you press the task switcher icon. Also, if you are using something like a screen recorder, that will have a heavy impact on memory availability.

You can use the area duplicator plugin

You can, but roads may not be connected and bridges may not be built.

Currently if you restart the game after you installed a plugin, IMG_1129.jpeg it simply closes itself without saving the city. This means the player might lose an arbitrary amount of progress if the recent changes haven’t been saved yet. I think it will be better if the game saves the progress firs...

Connect a regular highway to it. And, if that is not unlocked yet, use any road with bridges.
