Use the remove zone tool, the second choice in the menu under the bulldozer icon.

Two possibilities:

1. Slow or no data connection at the time.

2. You are not logged in in any way. Such as Google play services, Theotown forum account, etc. Press the gear icon, and look for account in the menu to check if you are logged in.
